In the context of continuous follow-up on the implementation phases of the Southern Refinery Project, the annual technical meeting for the year 2025 was held on October 19, 2025, in the city of Sabha, with wide participation from officials of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and Zallaf Libya Company.

The meeting was attended by a delegation from the National Oil Corporation, headed by the Director General of the Oil Industries Department, and included several department managers and specialists. Zallaf Libya Company was represented by its Chairman and Board Members, along with the Refinery Project Manager and several engineers and technicians concerned with the project.

The Chairman of Zallaf opened the meeting, emphasizing in his opening speech the strategic importance of the Southern Refinery Project and the direct and continuous follow-up it receives from the Board of Directors, in line with the company’s commitment to completing it within the specified timelines.

The meeting included a comprehensive review of the project’s developments, including current completion rates, technical and logistical challenges, in addition to discussing financial data and allocated budgets, and proposing possible solutions to overcome the obstacles hindering the progress of work.

The meeting concluded with a set of practical recommendations that are expected to contribute to accelerating the pace of implementation, thereby enhancing the prospects for the project to enter the operational phase as soon as possible, given its role as a fundamental pillar in supporting the national economy and achieving development and sustainability in the region.
